Ottawa – Leona Aglukkaq, Member of Parliament for Nunavut, Minister of Health and Minister Responsible for the Territories was joined today by Minister Baird, Minister for Transportation and Infrastructure for the grand opening of the new Larga Home. The "home away home" will provide a great new facility for Larga residents to enjoy during their stay in Ottawa.
“I am glad to see the opening of this new state of the art facility,” said Aglukkaq. “The creation of this home was a priority for me when I was Minister of Health for Nunavut and I am happy to be part of the grand opening celebrations as Nunavut’s Member of Parliament and Canada’s Health Minister.”
Nunavummiut will be able to stay at this home when they are in Ottawa for medical needs. It has 81 beds and a television in each room. Wireless internet is available to the guests as well as free laundry facilities. This new residence has a social worker on site, staff and vehicles to help residents with their stay.
With the opening of this new facility in Ottawa, patients will be well served and far more comfortable
