(Ottawa, ON) – The Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, MP for Nunavut and Regional Minister for the North, today issued the following statement:

I was shocked to hear the news of what the RCMP are referring to as “suspicious deaths” in Iqaluit last night.

A tragedy like this is particularly devastating in a tight-knit community like ours.  Knowing children were victims only makes it more incomprehensible.

My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their lives, as they struggle to deal with this tragic loss.
