Travel Advisory – Aglukkaq Continues her Travels
February 25, 2010

Ottawa, Ontario
– The Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Member of Parliament for Nunavut, Minister of Health, and Minister Responsible for the North continues her travels this week. After spending last night in Iqaluit she will head to Pond Inlet and Clyde River  today and wrap-up her trip  tomorrow traveling from Clyde River to Qikiqtarjuaq and back to Iqaluit.  Ms. Aglukkaq was originally scheduled to travel from Iqaluit to Resolute Bay yesterday but due to weather conditions and weather warnings in Resolute Bay she had to post-pone this portion of her trip.  Ms. Aglukkaq looks forward to the next opportunity she will have to visit her constituents in Resolute Bay.

Ms. Aglukkaq will spend her time in each community meeting with and talking to her constituents.  As well, over the course of her trip she will be visiting the local hamlet offices, health centers, and participating on radio broadcasts.

This trip will wrap-up a busy month of traveling for Minister Aglukkaq as she continuously works for all Nunavummiut, Northerners and Canadians.  Already this month the Minister, on top of her cabinet duties, has been in Iqaluit for the important G7 Finance Ministers and Bank of Governors meetings, Cambridge Bay, Yellowknife, Vancouver for Northern Days at the  Olympics, and Toronto and Calgary to meet with Health stakeholders.

“I always enjoy having the opportunity to interact with Canadians coast to coast to coast and in particular with my constituents,” Aglukkaq said.  “I encourage all my constituents to either join me at events in their communities or call into the radio programs.  I look forward to hearing what my constituents have to say and continuing to work hard for all Nunavummiut as your Member of Parliament” Aglukkaq concluded.
